A collection of sample-driven beats spanning 2022 to early 2025, it’s “meant to feel like you’re scanning the FM airwaves for something obscure and rare, but in a digital space, like you’re scrubbing through all of your favorite music blogs and internet radio shows, all at once”, says Won.
At 43 tracks, The album moves at a break-neck pace, traversing every sound and style in Won Pounds’ arsenal of sonic sorcery. The Manual sounds as unique as Won Pounds’ approach to sampling; intricately, he chops, re-chops, stems, chops again, and again, and again, until the sample at play is taken to a different dimension.
His signature warmth, textures, and pounding bass & drums are also on full display, expanding further on the sound he’s become known for across all genres he works in. Most recently, Won performed on On The Radar with his trusty SP-404, marking one of the first ever SP beat sets on the channel (video embedded below).
